Ticking
The pillow filling consists of a soft, open-cell foam. In order to maintain the excellent properties of this material in the long term, appropriate care and cleaning is required.
The best way to clean the pillow is to wash it with a commercially available mild detergent at temperatures up to 60° C. It is not advisable to use washing additives that contain a lot of chlorine or are chemically aggressive. A brownish discolouration of the foam cannot be avoided, but this does not result in any loss of quality.
After washing, remove as much water as possible using the spin cycle. Then let the drained cushion air dry on a rack. The cushion can also be tumble dried at up to 60°C, but avoid overdrying.
In order for the pillow to retain its shape over the long term, it must be shaken regularly. To do this, shake the pillow vigorously, knead it on all sides and then pat it flat again.
Coating
The cover can be gently machine washed at 30°C. Alternatively, the cover can be gently chemically cleaned. After washing, let the cover air dry and, if necessary, iron it inside out on a low setting.
The fabric is robust and durable. Please note, however, that intensive use can roughen the surface and cause so-called pilling (lint pills) to form. This cannot be completely prevented and does not constitute a reason for a complaint.
For easy cleaning, every now and then, simply vacuum the fabric with the upholstery brush of your vacuum cleaner.
